Anthony & Karl — matrimonio same sex a Malta

Anthony and Karl’s same-sex wedding in Malta was a sensory journey across roots and different cultural identities—a celebration under the Mediterranean sun that redefines contemporary luxury destination weddings: not ostentation, but belonging. A luxury wedding abroad that emerges from the couple’s identity even before the design.

The day began at Casa San Rocco, the family home in the town of Ghaxaq. Not a rented venue, but a real home, with the traces of life visible in its rooms, courtyards, and especially the garden. This private estate, the setting for a rare and beautiful private estate wedding, hosted the grooms’ getting ready and a reception for three hundred guests, yet retained an intimate, home-like warmth. Here, spaces didn’t impose a path—they suggested it. Conversations formed spontaneously between indoor and outdoor areas, between shadow and sunlight, between pale stone and lush vegetation. The botanical presence — rich, almost wild — was not mere decoration, but atmosphere: these were the elements guiding the creation of their wedding reportage.

The civil ceremony took place in Mdina, the island’s ancient fortified city. Leaving behind the botanical and domestic intimacy of the home, the day moved into a completely different space: golden stone, silence, monumental geometries introducing a natural solemnity to the event. The transition from the private embrace of the family home to the historical grandeur of Mdina defined the spirit of this multicultural wedding, where every detail honored the union of two nations and two lives.

As a photographer specializing in destination and LGBTQ+ weddings with a documentary style, I didn’t need to stage a single scene. My goal was always to craft an authentic and elegant wedding story, with natural and timeless imagery, designed for couples seeking an exclusive and deeply personal celebration.
